Twitter IPO Pitch Deck

1B 2013 Public

X formally Twitter was created by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams in March 2006 and was launched that July. By 2012, more than 100 million users tweeted 340 million tweets a day. In November 2013, the company went public through an IPO. Twitter had set a price of $26 per share for its initial public offering. The price valued Twitter at more than $18 billion based on its outstanding stock, options and restricted stock that would become available after the IPO. The company had originally set a price range of $17 to $20 per share for the IPO, but that was a lowball designed to temper expectations. Shares jumped 74 on the companys debut, closing the trading day at $45.10 and a $31.8B valuation. On April 25, 2022, Twitter agreed to a $44 billion buyout by Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, one of the biggest deals to turn a company private. The agreement closed on October 27 of the same year.

Moz

18M 2012 Series B

Moz was founded by Rand Fishkin and Gillian Muessig in 2004. Originally called SEOmoz, the business initially began as a blog and an online community where some of the worlds first SEO experts shared their research and ideas. They soon pivoted to developing proprietary SEO software, starting with the launch of Moz Pro in 2007. The company raised its first funding round the same year and grew to 5000 subscribers by 2009. By 2012, they rebranded to Moz in 2012 and expanded beyond SEO to the broader digital marketing space. This pitch deck was used to raise an $18 million round from Foundry Group and Ignition Partners in 2012. Moz was acquired by iContact Marketing Corp a subsidiary of J2 Global in 2021 for an estimated $67M, according to Crunchbase.

Intercom

600K 2012 Seed

This was the first pitch deck that Eoghan McCabe founder and CEO ever used for Intercom. When he shared it in 2016 on the heels of a $50M round led by Index Ventures, his only remarks were that Its from late 2011. When raising $600,000 was a monumental task. And when I thought it could get us to profitability. Intercom was founded in California in 2011 by Eoghan McCabe, Des Traynor, Ciaran Lee, and David Barrett. They previously ran the Irish software design firm, Contrast maker of bug-tracking tool, Exceptional, which they sold to Rackspace in 2011. After an initial undisclosed investment in 2012 from Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, Intercom used this deck to raise seed funding from David Sacks, Huddle founder Andy McLoughlin, Dan Martell, 500 Global formerly 500 Startups, and Digital Garage. From 2013 to 2017, the companys annual recurring revenue grew from $50 million to $250 million. As of 2022, Intercom served over 25K customers, including Atlassian, Amazon, and Lyft Business.
