Company Overview

This was the first pitch deck that Eoghan McCabe founder and CEO ever used for Intercom. When he shared it in 2016 on the heels of a $50M round led by Index Ventures, his only remarks were that Its from late 2011. When raising $600,000 was a monumental task. And when I thought it could get us to profitability. Intercom was founded in California in 2011 by Eoghan McCabe, Des Traynor, Ciaran Lee, and David Barrett. They previously ran the Irish software design firm, Contrast maker of bug-tracking tool, Exceptional, which they sold to Rackspace in 2011. After an initial undisclosed investment in 2012 from Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, Intercom used this deck to raise seed funding from David Sacks, Huddle founder Andy McLoughlin, Dan Martell, 500 Global formerly 500 Startups, and Digital Garage. From 2013 to 2017, the companys annual recurring revenue grew from $50 million to $250 million. As of 2022, Intercom served over 25K customers, including Atlassian, Amazon, and Lyft Business. Those customers generate 500M messages per month across 600M monthly active end users.
