GitLab Inc. was established in 2014 to continue the development of the open-source code-sharing platform launched in 2011 by Dmytro Zaporozhets. After graduating from Y Combinator in March of 2015, the company raised a $1.5M seed round, followed quickly by a $4M Series A, both led by Khosla Ventures.
