Apollo

Apollo builds developer tools based on the GraphQL a query language and database for developers created and later open-sourced by Facebook. The company was founded by Geoff Schmidt, who started working on GraphQL since 2016, when it was still called Meteor.js. Schmidts vision for Apollo was to make it easier to create high-quality, modern apps. As of November 2018, Apollo GraphQL had grown to nearly 500,000 downloads per week, supporting leading companies like Airbnb, CNBC, Audi, and the New York Times. Using this 21-slide pitch deck, the developer platform startup raised a $130 million Series D at a $1.5 billion valuation.
