Mr. Don Megrath is a Co-Founder and serves as Managing Director at VectorPoint Ventures. He also serves as a Board Member at Focal Technologies. He served as Chapter President, Portland at Keiretsu Forum, and as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Abom. He also served as Advisor and Board Observer at Sygnet Rail Technologies. He was also the Chief Financial Officer at Oh! Shoes. He has over twenty-five years of business management experience in a variety of industries, serving in numerous roles including founder, investment management professional, multiple senior management positions, and board member. He brings extensive experience in growth capital investing, portfolio company management, entrepreneurship, and finance to VectorPoint. He has also been an angel investor in select emerging companies based in the Northwest US. Before co-founding VectorPoint Ventures, He served as a Senior Associate at Aequitas Capital Management where he was actively involved in structuring and closing over $100 million in total financing in over 50 transactions, including preferred equity, senior debt, and mezzanine debt financing in middle-market private and public companies in a variety of industries. He also served as an officer and/or director in some portfolio companies during his Aequitas tenure. Prior to his work at Aequitas, he served in senior finance and operations roles in two information technology companies. At Integrated Information Systems, a microcap public company at the time, he served as Vice President Finance and Operations and later as Senior Vice President, CFO, and Secretary, accomplishing numerous strategic initiatives during his tenure. At STEP Technology, He served in various Vice President roles in operations and finance in a period of rapid company growth and later as CFO helped lead the effort that eventually leads to the sale of the company. He was also responsible for managing STEP's portfolio of investments in emerging companies. Prior to his work in the information technology industry, he began his career as a producer and owner in several media services companies. His award-winning media project work was primarily in the business to business marketing and educational development areas, where he used media technology to communicate to targeted audiences for medium to large clients, including Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Kaiser Permanente, Legacy Health Systems, Sequent Computer Systems, and Tektronix. He invested in his education at Oregon State University (undergraduate) and Portland State University (graduate), and for each area of study finished university work at George Fox University, obtaining a BA degree in Telecommunications and an MBA. He has held several boards or board of advisor roles in public and private companies and non-profits.
