Mr. Jacques Eijkens serves as Chairman of the Investment Committee at Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij. He served as Managing Director at Malmberg Investments. He has a commercial background (HEAO-CE) and started his career after a number of (foreign) internships as a market researcher at Samsom (Wolters Kluwer). Then looked for the broadening and went to work as a marketeer with educational publisher Malmberg (part of VNU). Here, after a number of years in various management positions, he became CEO of the Dutch and Belgian educational activities from 1998 onwards, and from that capacity a member of the VNU management team. In 2001 he led a management buy-out and took the first steps with the company in the field of digital media. In 2004 Malmberg was taken over by the Finnish media company Sanoma. There he became CEO of the Learning division, with the assignment to develop an international business strategy and acquire companies in different European countries. From this responsibility, he also became a member of the Board of Directors of Sanoma Holding. In the following years he has made several acquisitions in Northern and Eastern Europe and at the same time made a start, together with international management, with the transition to a digital business model. In 2014, he transferred his position and left in 2015 to become an investor, consultant, and coach of start-ups in the educational and media industry. During his career he has been involved in increasing commercial strength, creating new digital business models, and developing an entrepreneurial culture within various companies.
