Mr. Matthew Murphy serves as Partner at Menlo Ventures. He served as Board Member at Observable, Fleetsmith, Clarifai, Alloy Technolgies and 6 River Systems. He serves as Board Member at Airbase, HOVER, Datameer, Harness.io, ScoutRFP, Envoy, Carta, and Zylo. He focuses on multi-stage investments across enterprise infrastructure and mobile-first applications. He works closely with the management teams of AppDynamics, Drawbridge, Egnyte, InsideSales.com, InstartLogic, PernixData, Puppet Labs, SessionM, Shazam, Simplivity. Previously, he was a General Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers for over 15 years. In addition to investing in the companies above, he was an observer at Google (from initial investment to IPO), launched the iFund in '08 (a collaborative initiative with Apple to build the defining applications on the iOS platform), and led KPCB's investments in AutoNavi (Nasdaq: AMAP, 2010) and Aerohive Networks (Nasdaq: HIVE, 2014). He also served as a director at Shopkick (acquired by SK Planet 2014), Ocarina Networks (acquired by Dell in 2010), and Peakstream (acquired by Google in 2008). Before joining KPCB, he worked at semiconductor startup Netboost (acquired by Intel) where he led product management and prior to that at Sun Microsystems, where he led business development for the Network Systems Group and was a product line manager for networking platforms. He also worked in strategic and technical consulting for a number of years at Booz Allen Hamilton and Accenture. He holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Tufts University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Stanford University Engineering Venture Fund, is on the Board of Advisors for the Tufts University Electrical Engineering School. He served as Partner Emeritus and Advisor at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. He served as Board Member at Veriflow Systems and Usermind.
