Dr. Marianne Wu serves as Venture Partner at Standard Investments. She serves as Venture Partner at Congruent Ventures. Congruent Ventures is an early-stage venture firm founded in 2017 that partners with companies in the sustainable technology ecosystem. Marianne is a veteran investor, leader, and BoD member and is passionate about building new solutions to reinvent and decarbonize our industrial economy. She was previously President, GE Ventures where she was responsible for investing strategy (~$1B portfolio) and advised senior GE executives on disruptive trends in key sectors including energy, manufacturing, and digital. Marianne sits on the Boards of Menlo Microsystems, Fictiv, and Everactive and is an advisor or Board Observer at Carbon, Nexar, Tamr, LatentAI, and Catalant. She is also a Venture Partner at Standard Investments where she helped establish a new venture fund focused on industrial innovation. Marianne's previous investments include Stem (NYSE: STEM), Desktop Metal (NYSE: DM), Proterra (NASDAQ:PRTA), Volta (NYSE: VLTA), Enbala (acquired by NYSE: GNRC), Bit Stew (acquired by NYSE: GE). Earlier in her career, Marianne was a Partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures investing in leading technology and energy companies, and VP Marketing at ONI Systems through IPO. She started her career as a development engineer and was also a McKinsey consultant. Marianne holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a B.A.Sc. Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia. She has been named one of Silicon Valley's Women of Influence, Top 10 Women in Cleantech, and a CVC Rising Star.
