For 7 years, he led the inhaled insulin collaboration with Novo Nordisk and took the product from laboratory proof-of-concept to international Phase 3 clinical studies in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. In 2003, he played a key role in identifying and acquiring the DosePro technology and became technical director and executive sponsor for the development of sumatriptan DosePro at Aradigm Corporation. From 1986 to 1994, he was a tenured professor at the Welsh School of Pharmacy, Cardiff University, United Kingdom, concentrating in the areas of physical pharmacy and biopharmaceutics. He has widely published on advanced drug delivery and was made a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists in 1998. He is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmacy, Virginia Commonwealth University and also serves on the board of ICVRx, a start-up, a clinical-stage company focused on new treatments for the treatment of medically refractory epilepsy. In 1996, he founded Xcert Software Inc. (acquired by RSA Technologies), a technology leader in the emerging business of PKI. Dr. Csinger was a mentor of the SFU Technology Business Mentorship Program and has been both mentor and reviewer for the New Ventures BC business plan competition since 2007. He was an NSERC Post-Doctoral Fellow at Simon Fraser University, and a visiting scholar at the German Center for Artificial Intelligence in Saarbrucken. Dr. Csinger's work on artificial intelligence techniques has appeared in journals and conferences around the world. He holds several patents in Internet security, biometrics and related areas. Dr. Csinger holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University.
