Mr. Matthew Gillin is a Co-Founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer at Relay Network. He also serves as an Advisor at MissionOG. He also serves as Advisor at Safeguard Scientifics. He is also an Angel Investor. He has been an active entrepreneur and pioneer in the financial technology industry for almost 20 years. He also serves as Limited Partner & Advisor at Cedar Lake. Currently, he is CEO of AMPP Holdings, a holding company founded in 2009 that invests in the financial technology sector. Most recently, he served as the CEO of Ecount, Inc., a company he co-founded in his parent's basement with his friend Paul Raden. Together, they built Ecount into the recognized leader in the prepaid card industry, and in 2007, they sold the company to Citi, thereby delivering considerable value to their investors and shareholders. He remained the CEO of the renamed business until August of 2009 and was responsible for making Citi Prepaid Services the world's first global prepaid solution provider. During his twelve years of leadership, the company delivered innovative payment solutions for Verizon Wireless, Microsoft, Sprint, Ford, GM, Toyota, Home Depot, as well as The State of Maryland and The State of Kansas. He is regarded as an innovator in financial technology and holds two patents in the U.S. patent office for his inventions around electronic payments. Upon his departure, Citi Prepaid Services was issuing over 14 million cards per year and delivering solutions in more than 40 countries to nearly 2,000 clients in the United States, Europe, and Asia. A start-up veteran, he was also the co-founder of C/Base, a consultancy business that specialized in partnership marketing services for Internet-based companies. Over a two-year period, C/Base structured more than $1/2 billion in total partnership deal value for industry-leading online businesses, such as Amazon, Microsoft, Netscape, Hotmail, and others. He is a 2002 winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and in 2004 was named one of the Philadelphia region's most influential executives under the age of 40. In 2006, he was named the CEO of the Year by the Eastern Technology Council and was awarded the Walter M. Aikman Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007. A recognized financial technology industry expert, he has been featured by numerous national news outlets, including CNN, CNBC, Fox News, and Dow Jones and profiled in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. Mr. Gillin graduated with a B.A. from Denison University.
