Mr. Mark Spoto is a Co-Founder and serves as Managing Partner at Razor's Edge Ventures. He also serves as Vice President at Lightyear Acquisition Company. He serves as Board Observer at 908 Devices. He serves as Board Member at BlackSky, X-Bow, Ursa Space, and Spaceflight Industries. He serves as Chairman at HawkEye 360. He is an Angel Investor. With 25 years of experience in engineering, law, and corporate transactions, he is known in the community for expertly bridging the worlds of technology and finance. He focuses on investments in advanced sensor development, defense, and aerospace, with particular expertise in space technologies and geospatial mission tools. He presently serves on the Board of Directors of Razor's Edge portfolio companies 908 Devices, HawkEye360 (where is Chairman), Ursa, and X-Bow Systems. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Mersive, which was sold to OpenGate Capital, and BlackSky, which went public in 2021 (NYSE: BKSY). He was also actively involved in managing the Fund's investment in Altamira Technologies. Before joining Razor's Edge, he was a partner at the national technology law firm of Cooley LLP, where he helped start the firm's Reston, VA office in 1999. He has acted as a strategic advisor to numerous emerging and high-growth technology companies and investment funds. His legal practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity, public securities offerings, and general corporate representation. Prior to Cooley, he was an aerospace engineer supporting the Air Force Titan IV rocket program for McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Company. He holds a B.S., summa cum laude, in Aerospace Engineering from Boston University and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center.
