Mr. Sylvio Drouin serves as Vice President of Research Labs at Unity. He is also an angel investor. He served as Executive Vice President at Unity Technologies. Mr. Sylvio Drouin co-founded Xplr Software. Mr. Drouin serves as Chief Technology Officer of Tiny Pictures. He previously served as Advisor at Rex Labs. Mr. Drouin leads the development of infrastructure services as well as core technological directions and innovations. Prior to Tiny Pictures, he was technology advisor and Principal Architect for one of the first high-definition sci-fi series on the web (by the creators of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis). He is also an Advisor for Rex Labs. He worked around the world on large-scale projects (Philips Advanced Research Labs, Eicon Technology, Toyota, Fujitsu, Matsushita, Epson, France Telecom) as well as startup companies (MAZ Laboratory, Mettle, Visiocom, Stage3Media, Blipcast), where Mr. Drouin was specifically responsible for strategy, innovation, core technology and architectures. During this time he published hundreds of white papers, submitted more than 15 patents and designed sophisticated software in the fields of interactive television, interactive Web video, networking technologies, visual programming tools and advanced user interfaces. Sylvio has worked around the world as a software architect, CTO and entrepreneur for 15 years. In 2006, he joined as CTO of Tiny Pictures (mobile photo sharing) in charge of building consumer-facing infrastructure, and until recently, the CTO/VP Products at Xtranormal, one of the most successful 3D storytelling outlet on the Internet. His focus and experience are particularly strong on consumer apps design & development, core technology concepts and architectures.
