Mr. Hemant Luthra serves as Chairman at Mahindra CIE Automotive. He also served as Chief Executive Officer and President at Mahindra Hinoday Industries. He serves as the Angel Investor. He joined Mahindra & Mahindra in 2001 as Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and became President of the Components sector, known internally as Systech, in 2004. Mr. Luthra has built Systech through a combination of organic growth and selective acquisitions to obtain access to customers, technology and management. He implemented the Group's foray into the Aerospace business with the acquisition of an Australian aircraft and component company in 2007. And has successfully translated the various auto component businesses into one company through the alliance between the CIE Automotive Group and the Mahindra Group. Mr. Luthra graduated from IIT, Delhi and participated in the Advanced Management Program of the Harvard Business School. Mr. Luthra has a remarkable 35 years of varied and rich work experience in Operations, Finance, Business Development and Private Equity. He began his career with IBM and worked in their Indian and Singapore offices. He spent 18 years with the Thapar Group, a $1 billion conglomerate with interests in paper, chemicals, and engineering, as CFO and later as COO. He later founded a Private Equity fund for the ING Group. Next, he joined the Essar Group as CEO of their Telecom business and helped engineer a lucrative merger with Hutchinson. Mr. Luthra then worked with Enron India as CEO of their Broadband business. He also serves as Advisor at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice. He serves as Board Member at Godavari Biorefineries.
