He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and President of Intelligent Systems Corporation, a publicly traded company [NYSEMKT:INS]. He is a successful entrepreneur and venture capitalist who has more than three decades of experience building technology companies. In 1995, he was inducted into the Georgia Technology Hall of Fame and in 2005 was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Georgia Tech College of Management. He serves on the board of directors of several privately owned companies. In the past, he has served on the board of publicly traded companies such as Allied Holdings, Inc [NYSE:AHI], Great Plains, Matria Healthcare, Healthdyne Technologies and IQ Software. He is past Chairman of the Georgia Tech Research Corp. and is on the advisory board of the Georgia Tech's College of Management and a trustee of the Georgia Tech Foundation. Prior to being appointed President of Intelligent Systems in 1982, he founded Quadram Corporation in 1980. Quadram pioneered the enhancement products industry and was one of the fastest growing electronics companies in the early 1980s. Prior to Quadram, he founded a number of successful ventures in several industries. He also served as a marketing professor specializing in entrepreneurial enterprises at Mercer University, as a board member of the Georgia, Atlanta and Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Research Alliance, and EmTech Biotechnology Development, and is past chair of the American Electronics Association Southeast Chapter. He has served as trustee for the Georgia Baptist Health Care Services. He received a B.S. degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Institute of Technology and a M.B.A. from Georgia State University.
